AMCT

AMCT is delighted to continue to support Brook's mental health work with young people and in disadvantaged communities. The Blackburn hub provides 1:1 mental heath interventions and group wellbeing programmes for children between the ages of 11 and 25 and also provides family support and workforce development. The key vision for the hub is that young people can easily access the support they need in a way which works for them. Unlike statutory mental health services, Brook encourage young people to self-refer with or without a trusted adult. The staff are trained to deliver specialist work in 5 key areas in addition to the most cited referral criteria for children and young people (anxiety, depression, mood disorders, behavioural challenges):

  • Working with young people who experience a label of neurodivergence
  • Working with LGBTQ+ young people
  • Working with young people on the mental health/sexual health intersection
  • Working with young people who experience suicidal ideation
  • Working with young people who have experienced trauma

The hub is now such a vital service for children and young people in the local community.
